What is reminiscent of a former cinema from the outside reveals one of the largest gay saunas in Germany.
With us you can forget everyday life on more than 1,600 sqm and 3 floors.
The inconspicuous entrance to the PLUTO marks the beginning of the former cinema passage.
At this point around 350 lockers are lined up today. When everyday life is stored in the lockers, it goes to the central bar and lounge area.
At this level you will find, among other things, the Finnish sauna and the swimming pool with counter-current system.
From here, the upper and lower floors are connected by a large curved staircase, which still gives an idea of the 1960s architecture of the former department store.
On the upper floor you will find the TV room, relaxation cabins and numerous cruising opportunities.
In the basement you will find a 4m x 4m bubbling whirlpool, the oriental-inspired hammam with a large, heated marble plate and spherical sounds, our XXL labyrinth steam sauna, a sanarium with 50 ° C – 60 ° C and all sorts of other ways to linger and have fun.
And some of us want to have fun – you will meet many like-minded visitors at all times of the day and night, from a catchment area that extends to the Netherlands and Belgium.
On weekends, up to 600 sauna friends are spread over the day and over the floors of our spacious gay sauna. Sometimes you don’t even know where to look.
In addition to many promotions and wellness offers, we offer you a family atmosphere that makes you want to bathe and shower, heat up and cool down.
The PLUTO sauna is located in the middle of Essen at the northern end of the pedestrian zone, next to the GOP Variete Theater.
You can easily reach the PLUTO by public transport (stop: Viehofer Platz, line: 106, 107, two stops from the main train station) or by car (many parking spaces in the immediate vicinity).
